Privacy Policy

PrintMySpot is the assumed business name of Jonathan Munson, registered in North Carolina, USA. This page explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what you can do about it. Questions or requests: contact@printmyspot.com.

What we collect

Information you give us:

• Email address, when you sign in, ask us to email you a design or a product preview, use the contact form, or check out.
• Name and shipping address, collected by Stripe at checkout and passed to us so we can ship your order.
• Your designs: the place you searched, the map position and zoom, the theme, the text you add, and any markers.
• Messages you send us by email or through the contact form.
• A friend’s email address, if you use “email a friend” to share a design. We send them that one email and don’t add them to any mailing list.

Information collected automatically:

• A random visitor ID stored in a cookie, so your designs and visits stay linked without an account.
• How you use the site:the pages you visit, the site that sent you, campaign tags in the link, your browser and device type, time on page, how far you scroll, which editor tools you use, and whether you saved a design. This is tied to the visitor ID, and to your account if you’re signed in.
• IP address: recorded in our web server logs and used briefly to limit abuse. Our ad partners and map services also receive it (see below).
• Your location, only if you ask:if you tap “Use my location” and your browser allows it, we use your coordinates to center the map. They become part of the design if you save it.

Payment cards: card details go straight to Stripe and never reach our servers.

How we use it

• To make, ship, and support your order.
• To save your designs and email you the links you ask for.
• To send order, shipping, and download emails, and occasional reminders about a design you saved (you can unsubscribe from reminders at any time).
• To answer your questions.
• To understand which pages, features, and ads work, so we can improve the site.
• To prevent fraud and abuse, and to keep tax and accounting records.

Advertising: Pinterest and Meta

Third parties, including Pinterest and Meta, use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies on our site to collect or receive information about your visit, and use that information to measure ads and to target and deliver ads, which can include ads about PrintMySpot on their platforms. They may also collect information about your activity over time and across other websites.

• Pinterest tag(every page): records page visits, items added to the cart (product, price, quantity), completed checkouts (order value and items), and requests to email a design link (the design and place), together with your IP address, browser details, and Pinterest’s cookies.
• Pinterest Conversions API: when you give us your email to receive a design link, our server tells Pinterest about that sign-up and sends a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email, your IP address, browser details, and a hashed copy of your visitor ID, so Pinterest can match it to an ad you saw. Hashing hides the address from casual view but still lets Pinterest match it to an account.
• Meta Pixel(our homepage, catalog, and partners pages): records page views, with your IP address, browser details, and Meta’s cookies.

Some state laws call this kind of data sharing “selling” or “sharing” personal information. To opt out:

• Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser. When we see it, we don’t load the Pinterest tag or the Meta Pixel, and we don’t send Pinterest any sign-up events for you.
• Pinterest: personalization settings and privacy policy.
• Meta: ad preferences and privacy policy.
• Industry opt-outs: optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
• Blocking third-party cookies in your browser also limits them.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Our site does not change its behavior for the older “Do Not Track” browser setting. It does honor Global Privacy Control, as described above.

Who else receives your information

• Stripe processes payments and collects your email and shipping address at checkout. stripe.com/privacy
• Printful prints and ships physical products. It receives your name, shipping address, and the print files for your design (not your email). printful.com/policies/privacy
• Anthropic (its Claude AI assistant) reads email sent to our support addresses to help draft or send replies. anthropic.com/legal/privacy
• Map services: your browser loads map tiles from OpenFreeMap, and place searches in the editor go to OpenStreetMap’s Nominatim service (privacy policy). Both see your IP address and what you search or view.
• Pinterest and Meta, as described in the advertising section above.
• Etsy, if you buy from our Etsy shop: Etsy shares your order details with us so we can make and ship it.
• Our email and website run on servers we rent and manage ourselves.
• Authorities, if the law requires it, or a buyer of the business if it is ever sold.

What others can see

• Homepage gallery: a small preview of a saved design may appear there. We only show designs whose title is the name of the town or city that was searched. Designs with a marker, designs searched by street, address, or landmark, designs zoomed in to street level, and designs with a custom title are never shown. To have one removed, email us a link to it. See our Terms.
• Share links: anyone with the link to a design you share can view that design.

Email from us

• Order confirmations, shipping updates, and download links. These are part of your order and are always sent.
• The design link or product preview you ask for, and occasional reminders about a design you saved. Every one of these has an unsubscribe link that works without signing in.
• Replies to messages you send us. Some may be written with the help of our AI assistant.

Cookies and browser storage

• Visitor ID cookie (30 days): links your designs and visits.
• Sign-in cookie (30 days): keeps you signed in.
• Browser storageon your device: your cart, editor settings, recent place searches, and whether you’ve seen a tip.
• Pinterest and Meta cookies, set by their tags unless you use Global Privacy Control (see above).

How long we keep it

• Orders (including name, address, and email): kept for our tax and accounting records.
• Designs in an account: for as long as the account exists.
• Designs saved without an account: one year after your last change. Designs from visits we never recorded (usually automated traffic) are removed after 30 days.
• Print and download files: about a year after the order.
• Email addresses you give us: until you ask us to delete them. If you unsubscribe, we keep your address on a do-not-email list so we can honor it.
• Usage records (pages and editor activity): kept without a set deletion date for now.
• Support messages: kept as a record of the conversation.
• When a design is deleted or expires, it disappears from the site; a record of it can remain in our database.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing contact@printmyspot.com. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, typically within 30 days. We keep order records the law requires us to keep. With an account, you can delete any of your designs yourself from My designs. You can unsubscribe from reminders with the link in any of them.

We honor these requests wherever you live. If your state gives you more rights (for example, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of your information), use Global Privacy Control or email us, and we will not treat you differently for doing so. If you are outside the US, you can make the same requests by email; we only ship to US addresses.

Children

PrintMySpot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Security

The site is HTTPS-only, and access to our servers and data is restricted. No system is perfectly secure; if you think your account has been misused, write to us right away.

Changes to this policy

The effective date at the top shows the current version. If we make a material change, we’ll update that date, and the change applies going forward. We’ll also do our best to tell active customers. The 2026-10-02 update added the Pinterest and Meta ad tags, reminder emails, and AI-assisted support, which the previous version did not describe.
